How do you get "clean lines" when painting trim and the wall?

I have my brother painting my walls a color and the wood trim white, throughout the whole house. It looks good but the lines where the white painted trim meet the painted wall aren't what you would call perfectly "clean" any ideas?
We've used tape, the "blue" tape. It's just still not so clean looking.
What is making the lines not look so clean is the white paint he's painting the trim with can ooze down between the tape and the wall (there is a gap between the trim and wall) so there are parts where the lines aren't so clean.
