How do you get accepted to Columbia University?

I'm about to go to tenth grade in september, not very involved in to anything yet. Ninth grade i had a 4.0 GPA and most honors classes. I wasn't involved in anything because the school I attended wasn't so interesting but i just recently moved to a dual/enrollment school. I just started volunteer work at the food bank. Now my question is what do i have to do to improve my chances of getting into Columbia.

I like Columbia because its in New York, it offers an Economics/Political Science degree, and the good campus life.
 
Columbia is a prestigious university. You need a high GPA, high SAT scores, lots of Ap classes (ace them), Lots of extracurriculars, awesome recommendations, and an awesome essay. Take the most challenging curriculum your school offers, and do alot of community service and you have a shot. Oh and don't forget to practice your writing skills.
