How do you get a photo like this? Its like a ghost image?

How do you get a photo like that? The girl is invisible/ghostly like and I really want to know how to do that on photoshop. I use Picasa2, I tried figuring out how to use GIMP but its to confusing
 
Easy....

In photoshop, cut the background off with the magic wand. Now, open the other photo , and copy the girl you just cut , onto that new photo.

Use the transparency tool and set it to 50 to begin with. Now you can increase or decrease the transparency .
Once you have attained this, combine the layers together.
