how do you fix a lock assembley on a 2000 mazda mpv van glove box?

My buddy deceided to open my glove while it was locked Nice for me,,, Now I have my GPS and other things locked in there.Can I at least get it open with anything shy of a hammer.. PLEASE HELP
 
1.) Get the key
2.) Place it in the slot
3.) turn the key
4.) Ta-da! not hard
