...Obama's Passport? On 3 separate occasions over the past couple of months, 3 different "contractors" who are paid by the Bush administration have been secretly pawing through Obama's passport files.

We all know that when the Bush administration talks about "contractors" in Iraq, they are talking about paid Mercenaries and Soldiers of Fortune from the likes of Blackwater and Halliburton

Like father, like son.

When Bush's daddy was president, after his stint at the head of the CIA, a similar incident occurred where people tied to the Bush Sr campaign were caught rifling through Bill Clinton's passport for political purposes.

The Bush Jr administration is trying to push through a law that would pardon telecom companies for illegally spying on millions of ordinary American citizens on behalf of the Bush administration over the past few years.

The Watergate break-ins remind us that Republicans will gladly break the law when it comes to election politics.

Why does the Bush Admin continue to break US law?

It was the State Dept higher ups who caught these snoopers and fired them.

The Dems better not push this as filegate and Hillary may reemerge. Recall that Hillary had Craig Livingston steal FBI files on prominent republicans. When questioned on this Hillary pleaded ignorance. Two years later these missiing files were found in Hillary's possession. Amazing that this case went no further.

Because it can, after the 9/11 "thing", new rules apply, not so bad for them guys was it?

Uhm... where have you been?

The Bush Administration is not breaking any laws by having contractors look into anyone's passport records. Passport records are not private.

However, even if you did come up with some privacy law that could potentially cover passport records, you'd still be wrong. See, there's something called the Patriot Act that pretty much lets the Bush administration do anything they want to do. Essentially, it bypasses the Bill of Rights by granting unprecidented power to the government. Hell, they can enter your home without a warrent and do whatever they want while in it. They can detain you for years without ever arresting you. They can tap your phone lines without a warrent.

If you voted for any encumbant politician since 2001, you have contributed to this.

Also, in the context of your post, "contractor" does not mean mercenary. "Contractor" means a computer geek consultant hired by the NSA.

It's a matter of choosing the lesser of the evils. Both sides are guilty of something.
