So I was practicing driving a manual car and here are the problems I had. To turn the car on I had to keep my foot on the clutch. Once I did that I let and the shut off again (why?). In order for me to keep the car on I had to switch between the clutch and the gas pedal fast enough to keep the car going, when I did this the car jerked violently, I was surprised so I accidentally let go of the gas then the car turned off again. So i tried again, and again the car jerked violently. So I'm practicing in a lot and there is a stop sign so i stopped, again the car turned off (how do i stop?). So I'm driving and every time I shifted gears the car would jerk violently(why?). Then once I got to third gear the steering wheel seemed harder to turn, and it seemed to stay that way even as I shifted back down to first gear. Please tell me what I was doing wrong and please give me tips and anything else that might help. Thank you!
