How do you do voiceover for a video on the apple laptop imovie?

I have an apple laptop with the imovie application, and i uploaded a video, and want to do voiceover on it, but i dont know how. i only know how to do it with pictures on a slideshow. PLEASE HELP! thank you!!
PLEASE HELP!
i'm using the regular imovie with the star icon, not the imovie HD (previous one).
