i have a brand new puppy (six weeks) and i am a first time dog owner and i need all the advice i can get

The puppy is going to do this for a while. It's whining - perhaps it's hungry or just needs to be cuddled. Give it lots of attention - petting and playing, etc. Start potty-training right away. Make sure it has the proper food (puppy) and water. Other than that, the whining should subside in a few weeks. And if it sounds like the puppy is whining in pain, then bring it to a vet (because 6 weeks is very young to get a puppy). Enjoy the new little life!

well, play with it, make it happy.Try not to leave it alone too much.My dog is such a whiner, and shes almost 4 years old.She starts whining and barking after 30 seconds or so, and so keep your dog company, say, keeping a dog sitter(one of your good friends or family.) and let your dog playwith other dogs her or his size.Make the house feel secure, and get chew toys for the little one. good luck!:D

First...the puppy should have been atleast 8 weeks old to leave him mother...

do you play with him alot...if so then just ignore the whining
if not...play with him more!
