How do you define a "full scholarship" to school?

My old man and I made a deal my freshman year in high school that if I recieved a "full scholarship" to college, he would buy me my dream car: A Hummer H2 (I know, they're horrible for the environment... C'est la vie!)

Anyhow, I am in the second semester of my freshman year in college and my scholarships pay ALL of my tuition, and half of my room and board.

Now, I see paying zero-tuition as a full ride. Dad, however, thinks that the 1/2 room and board he pays (a whopping $3800 for the whole year) as negating our deal.

He is proud of me, and of what I've accomplished, but I want my Hummer! My personal theory is that he is using the Hummer in the classic business sense in that it is a "carrot" that I will strive to obtain, and that he'll eventually (like senior year) get me the truck. I think that I would perform just as well as I am now though if I had the keys in my hands! :)

What do you all think? Am I incorrect in my reasoning, or is my father nitpicking?

(And please, don't let my infatuation with Hummers become the issue here. Chances are I know more about them than you do, so you can't tell me anything, negative or positive, about them that I don't already know. Thanks!)
