How do you cook chicken gizzards simply?

Ok, I read alot of answers on how to cook gizzards, but everyone keeps giving recipes. I'm someone that can barely turn on an oven and was never taught to cook. I tried it on my own by washing raw gizzards and tossing them in a pot of boiling oil, made sure they weren't pink and they tasted kind of like what I get at the chinese restaurant. I'm not gonna get sick, am i ??
Wow RLI, that was a great answer! Sounds a little scary but you explained it in plain english which was cool. I had no idea you could just throw them in a pot of water, I used up a bunch of oil! Also, since everyone is talking about flour, what does it do? I liked the plain meat, does the flour make them breaded like in the restaurants? Can I just mix them with salt and pepper? And do I just put raw gizzards in a bag?
