Without sounding like you're weak and whining.
I am seriously seriously annoyed with the unprofessional and outright rude way this woman was talking to me and I don't know what to do or how to go about it.
I phoned up a health helpline for advice (NHS 24), and the woman I was talking to was continually SIGHING very loudly down the phone as I was trying to explain what was wrong.
She was criticising what I was saying. But I don't know how to explain it because it was the tone of her voice rather than words. For example, "so you HAVEN'T even taken any medication yet...(!) SIGH."
When I didn't understand a question, I asked 'what do you mean by that' and she just barked the exact same question at me louder.
The helpline is for medical advice instead of going to the doctor, and she just kept telling me to go to my doctor, and when I asked her what side of the body the appendix was on, if that's what my pain sounded like, she didn't/couldn't/didn't bother to answer me. Pretty basic stuff. I phoned it because it seemed too hasty to go straight to the ER, and a doctors appointment would be too late to wait.
She asked how my diet was, and I just factually told her it had been really bad for the past 2 weeks. I was answering her question to help her figure out what might be wrong with me and to be factual, and she started saying out of the blue "well, you ARE an adult, YOU are the one who makes the CHOICE to put certain foods into your body. Nobody forces you." wtf?
haha no I mean how do you complain about someone USING a ****** tone aka her. I would be polite when doing it
