How do you change a circuit connected to the pcm and trans temp sensor in a 93 chevy?

It is circuit 1227 on a chevy k1500. It connects to the pcm and runs to the trans fluid temp sensor. Im just wondering how u would change it if it has gone bad. I believe it is just a wire running all the way down to inside the transmission, but im not 100% sure. Any information at all would be nice.
