How do you calculate total cost knowing the variable cost and the marginal cost of producing the next unit?

I have to solve this questions, but my prof hasn't taught us this and in the book I can't find it. I can't even find what variable cost means. Anyway the question is:

If the total variable cost of producing 3 units is 60. The marginal cost of producing the 4th unit is $20. What is the total cost of producing 4 units?
