i know you use a 428 crank but can it be any 428 crank from ford? i know i can use 390 heads but what else needs to be changed?(camshaft, pistons(etc.)
doesnt the 360,390,410,428 have same block and 4.05" bore size but different stroke to acheive diff cubic inches

The FE engine was really the first of Fords modular engines - over 10 different versions, different bores and only one basic block (with the exception of the 427) two different rods (a long rod and a short rod).
The 428 and 360 both have bores of 4.05" - and with a 428 crank (3.98 stroke) the 360 becomes a 410. Cam from the 360 is good to go - although Id's personally recommend the 428, 390GT cam. The rods needed and pistons will be a mix and match to achieve the proper deck height and the heads are pretty much a choice of any FE for what ever compression ratio that you desire - but other than that - it should be an interesting project.
