how do you BUILD a closer FRIENDSHIP?

this guy (lives right across me)and i use to like each other but we decided to stop to save our friendship.
hes a grade younger so i go to high school and he goes to jr.high
and it sucks cause we dont really see or talk a lot
we text once in a while & he said we will hang out but he said tht months ago

what can i do to get our friendship very close that ill be his best friend??

and what can i do next year when we go to the same school???
 
If you just want to be friends with him, invite him to a group event of some sort. That will bring you two closer without the fear of him making a move or something. When he goes to your school, invite him to sit with you and your friends at lunch or something like that.
 
since he was very vague when he said that you two should hang out, you have to be specific and say where you want to go for example: "You know (name) we never got a chance to hang out like we planned. Want to go to ............" If you two just spend time as friends then your friendship will grow. You both probably will trust each other more and more strengthening the friendship.

When your in high school you could sit at the same lunch table, talk while in the halls, be with each other at any sporting events, ect. and just enjoy each others company.
