i didnt want my violet gobie to stay in a tank all its life and never even get laid, thats torture to live all your life without sex and then just die, so i bought another violet gobie, hoping it was female, but i wasnt sure if it was female or male. how do you tell the difference?

if it helps the behavior of my 1st one which i had for 4-5 months is...now it just tends to stay in its pipe, and is very aggressive to the other violet gobie, if it gets near its space.when i first had it everytime i turned off the lights, it would come out from its hiding spot and swim around a little bit, now it never does that. they are both about 7-8 inches, there isnt really a noticeable difference. the newer gobie stays in its cave too, but is not shy to come out, it always comes out when ever im near and whenever i feed it. my first one barely ever comes out even when i feed them, and if it notices me then it tends to shy back into its pipe. i dont get how it sees me, because they have poor vision from what i read, but i feel like they can see pretty good. [i use brine shrimp, bloodworms, and live baby brine shrimp] the 1st one usually stays in its pipe all day, but the 2nd one comes out a lot more, does a little bit more swimming at the bottom, then goes back into its pipe, and when i feed them it actually comes out from its hiding spot, and sifts around.

i have a brackish tank setup, 2 violet gobies, 55 gallon tank, 4 bumble bee gobies, 70 gallon biowheel filter, aragonite sand. should i get some java ferns?
i know a 55 gallon is small, but i already bought a 75 gallon and im cycling the water in that one. i know the gobies will grow big.
