so what got me asking was i went with a group of SIX friends (including me) not sure with or without reservation to The Eatery http://www.yelp.ca/biz/the-eatery-vancouver
and when the bill came it was 100+ inlcuding an automatic 19% tip. they told us about it (when bill came) but i felt they like they don't deserve it. The place was dirty (we asked them to move us because our table hhad bugs crawling behind us at the window frame), the waitress are "hot looking" but one of them gave us an attitude once (i'm not into the waitress, i'm just saying it's like a "dress code" thing). and the place is packed with only 2 washroom stalls... the food is a rip off and it took forever for it to come. and who charges that many tips for 6 people?!
I realize waiters / waitress get minimun wage but i'm skeptical about that cause apparent i hear my friends say they actually do make a lot of money from the job. Also the hot girl thing kinda made me a bit more angry, its like they only hire pretty scandalous bitches >_> kay sorry i just don't like their rudeness and how they don't tell me prior to dining that we're gunna be overly charged.
anyways, i want to know what are the way to get myself out of those situations next time. I kinda regret letting me n my friends pay the full tip, i rather not want to tip them at all.
