How do we change the keyless entry code on our Ford F250 Lariat truck?

We have a "new" used 2004 Ford F250 and I'd like to use the keyless entry option...the numbers on the outside. The manual says the 5 digit code is on a card in the glove compartment, but it's not and I must the the factory set code to change it. What do we do? I don't want to go to the dealership and pay to reset..Thanks for any help.
