How do we best handle ourselves around cops, and how should we treat them? Who

cops are bully's plan and simple,, they get away with what ever they want as long as it don't hit headline news ,, that's the only time a cop gets disciplined, and i personally know former cops that quit because they couldn't handle the mainstream attitude of cops,,,

do we complain to about them? First and foremost if we're not happy either with lets say hospital security, or cops out there giving traffic tickets, or just simply aren't satisfied with cops in general, certain ones, who do we report to? Their higher-ups? Will our complaints be taken seriously?

Also, I just find them in general to be very weird types. They don't act like normal people. They're just strange walks of life. Sure, normal people ARE cops, that's their job,...but that's not what I mean. I mean certain personality types are attracted to these positions, and it's not the best people I can tell you that much. Not the most caring or even intelligent.

Just very crass, authoritative, mean, type-A personallity, controlling, biased, just...all sorts of negative adjectives.

I have YET to meet a cop that acted like a caring counselor or a school teacher.

I'm sure part of that is a forced act because they have to be tough, but my god, they act like total jerks half the time ESPECIALLY the men.

They're really, I'm sorry, in many ways VERY VERY difficult people, if not toxic people to our well being and what not, and they're not there to serve, protect, or even CARE about us it seems, but to just do their jobs, collect their paycheck, and go on being the biased, chip on their shoulders, bully types of power/control freak people.

I used to think that maybe it was just me, not all cops are like this, but ya know what, truth be told,

many are, they suck and I'm not taking it anymore. it's ridiculous, they need to be reported, complained about and even dragged into court for harassment like regular people, if they do break a law or harass you when lets say you're not doing anything wrong.

Don't like or agree with me? well then you haven't really been reading alot about what cops do and get away with out there.

Racial profiling, sexuality orientation discrimination, entrapment, a guy was tazered and killed in utah by cops for doing absolutely nothing , they mistakenly tazered him. Another cop kept this man from seeing his mom die at a hospital, and the list goes on and on and on.

My own personal experience with them, since I'm a more femme type of gay/bi guy, they called me a "b9tch" before and other things.

Many of them are seriously rude, crude, nasty, and abuse their power.

How can someone like me, an average person go about this?

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. The police police themselves, the cover for each other, they lie and they break the law.

At least that's how it is in my community. And there's not a thing we can do about it because

a) when you complain about the police, it's the police that you complain to.

b) complaints increase the harassment.

Welcome to my world. Ain't America great!

If you have a specific complaint about a specific officer, you can complain to a superior officer or to internal affairs. But it had better be something more specific than, "he didn't act like a caring counselor or a school teacher." Serious complaints are treated seriously. Generalized, whiny, petty gripes from people who clearly have broken the law are treated less seriously.

If your problem is with police officers in general, as it seems to be from reading your "question", you can't file a complaint against the entire profession.
