how do u send mms messages on an HTC Hero?

Im with cellular south...idk if that makes a difference but i have an htc hero and i cant send mms messages...somebody told me that in the compose message part, write ur message then press the menu button and press attach but i dont have an option for attach when i press menu....does anybody know how to fix this problem so i can send and recieve mms messages
