...more details the better :)? just bought a 1992 jeep ckerokee ladero and its in great shape minus the little amount of body rust but most of the car is still original. the engine is clean but there is rust underneath the car. im afraid to touch the brake lines and the drive shaft has a little rust on it too along with the frame and some other things. id like to spray this with the black spray-on rubbery stuff that they sell at autozone but im open to other black things. i dont know how to get rid of the rust. steel wool? i dont want to just spray that stuff on cause it will flake off and the parts will still be rusted, and i know not to spray hot things cause they melt the rubber and stink....will i need to replace the brakelines, they are horribly rusted. id rather not invest a lot of money into getting the rust off.

Us some stuff called rust converter as this stops the rust if applied according to directions. Can get at any auto supply or hardware store. Once this is done then you can spray on some rubberized undercoating. Just do not get too much on the drive shaft or could effect balance.

buy a container of naval jelly brush it on with a paint brush.. and then hose it off.. then you spray on undercoating.. you can have the car undercoated http://www.shopping.com/xGS-Undercoating_Cars~NS-1~linkin_id-8006930 best if youlook in the yellow pages in your area.. many people undercoat and its cheaper that way..
