How do u change the gears on the following brands of bikes?

i am 16 and just learning to ride bikes. someone told me that the gearing style changes on different brands of bikes. on the bike i am practising ( a reaaly old hero honda CD 100SS) the shift up is by pressingthe back and shift down by pressing the front of that rod like thing down. So how do u change gears in TVS, BAJAJ, Yamaha ETC.........?????????PLEASE ANSWER
 
well they only come a few ways most are one down rest up there is a few all down but dont see them much any more and thats pretty much all types of bikes one down som ebikes do come with a heel toe shift but gears work same way one down with toe rest down with heel which is same movement
 
In TVS - exact reverse of CD 100(front shift down, back shift up)
Bajaj - same as TVS
Yamaha- first shift down, rest all up ( in RX series)

the newer bikes all come with the racer model shift with a single lever which you engage using just the toe....am sure u might have seen them...
