how do they figure flurescent lights are better for the environment?

when it is a known fact that they contain three times as much mercury in them...yeah they last longer than regular bulb...but u eventually have to throw them away.
 
They overlooked that part. The people that make them don't want to emphasize that aspect of the twisty bulbs. They also produce ugly light.

Often times, greenies fail to look at the whole picture and don't get past the feel good part.
