How do people with online business stores fill all their orders? Wouldnt that take a LOT of time?

If I wanted to open an online web store that sells, say, candles. If I end up getting a spot on google, and people see my site when they are looking for candles, I could potentially have a LOT of traffic to my site. How then could I ever keep up with all the people using their credit card on my site to order my product?
Is there some way I could automate it? like forward all the purchases directly to the distributor?
How would this work?
