...assaulted, PLEASE READ & HELP!? I was physically assaulted at a store last week. I filed a police report. They were going to view the video feed of the building for evidence but there were "technical difficuilties" to the tape. The officers are friends with the lady who assulted me. I had a sprained back, neck, and shoulder & went to the ER and was seen by 2 doctors that same day. The police are now saying that I self-inflicted those wounds. They also said that the lady never laid a finger on me (yet she left a red handprint, bruising, and completely shoved me out the door which was unnecessary). I was not causing a scene or any commotion but was asked to leave the premisses which I immediately picked up my purse and headed to the door when the lady felt that she needed to "escort" me out. I am now being told that I have a criminal trespassing citation against me and that they are mailing it to me. I thought I had to be present to recieve it? idk. I did not resist leaving though. The case is now being turned over to the DA yet the officer told me that I should not be suprised if they come and arrest me under "making a false statement to an officer". My statement was TRUE and I have NO reason what so ever to make anything up. I have suffered physical pain as well as sever emotional distress. What else can I expect? What should I do? I am seeking an attorney at the moment. Any information would be helpful. Thank You.
