I am having an April wedding in Georgia. We are having the ceremony at 2 so we don't have to serve the traditional lunch or dinner menu. I plan on making snack foods like finger sandwiches and fruit/veggie and cheese platters. ( Any other easy inexpensive suggestions are greatly appreciated ) We will have a larger the needed wedding cake (dessert slices instead of reception slices) and I want to have many other kinds of desserts. We want to make it more of a dessert reception. My husbands family are all musicians and I would love for them all to bring their various stringed instruments and play. But how do I word invites to ask them to play for us?
Now my question is how to word the invite. It will be held at our home in the back yard for about 60-75 people. I want a real casual laid back, fun, loose kind of gathering. I am not very clever with words so I really need help with this.
Many people suggested a pot-luck or cook out style meal but I can't see asking guests to bring food. I am not opposed to the BBQ idea but who would I get to man it!
