How do I wire my 2002 Ford focus sedan trailer lights?

I have a 4 wire flat connector and I have wired it 2 different ways , I cant get both the blinkers and the brake lights to work at the same time. If I wire it one way the taillights and blinkers work but no brakes, the other way I get brakes and tail lights and not blinkers. I have looked online but cannot find a wiring diargram showing the hook up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to use a 5/6 wire system. You will not be able to connect with a 4 wire plug. You need one wire for each function, taillights, brake lights, left signal, right signal, and a ground.
