How do I view the whole photo without having to scroll over?

I want to edit some photos and I can click on them and they open up and I can view them fine and see the whole pic n the screen but I cant edit them from that window. I have to right click and select edit and when I do that the pic opens up and is huge and I cant see the whole thing without having to scroll over to see it all.
