I'm a garden noob and I know you can use Urea as a fertilizer but I don't know how to go about it. Do I sprinkle it on top, dilute it in water in a specific Urea to water ratio, or some other way.

Urea is a very volatile source of nitrogen. If you do not till the urea in you will loose muck of your nitrogen. You could also spread the urea and then water it in with the garden hose.

Urea is a highly volatile source of nitrogen food for plants. It enhances vegetative growth and used mostly on leafy vegetables and ornamental plants grown mostly because of its beautiful foliage. Usually Urea burns the leaves of these plants when applied on wet leaves. The best applications if you have a small garden should be through dilution in a specific Urea to water ratio. Safest is a tablespoon to a gallon applied every fifteen days. Apply sparingly on the ground near the stem. Do not apply on the leaves.
