how do i use a flash drive to save data?

put your flash drive in the USB port in the system unit. on the notification area in the taskbar(desktop environment), it'll show "Found new hardware". Saving documents in Application Windows Environment: when you want to save in a flas drive, choose the save as command and d save as dialog box will appear. in the dialog box, click the arrow in the Save in box, and u'll see different drives and folders there. click on your flash drive and it will now be the active drive in the save in box. type the name you want to use in saving ur doc. and click save.
 
Assuming its USB, Plug it into a USB slot. Windows will talk bollocks while it finds drivers. Go to my computer and wait for the new drive to appear. It will be given a letter depending on the slot used. E,F,G and H are common. When saving, either go "Save As", go to the new drive and save, otherwise, close the document, and copy & paste the file into the drive.
