How do I use a cellphone MicroSD card as a Digital camera memory card?

I have a MicroSD converter so I can get it to fit in the camera, I just want to know how to format it. I put it in earlier and it said it needed to be formated but I canceled because I didn't think of it at the time, so now when I put it in it doesn't ask to format
 
The best way to format the SD card is to put it into the computer if you have an SD slot, then format the card from there. Just make sure write protection switch is off.
