how do i upload photos from my cell phone to my computer?

ok i have a samsung fone and wen i hooked up the computer cord to the desktop it asked me wat was the user name and password now it already had a suggestion for the username i just dont know how to figure out the password and im not at home with my cell phone information so any help plzzzzs
