How do i unlock my samsung behold 2?

okaaayyy so i got the samsung behold 2 for myself about 10 months ago through tmobile contract. now, i kept the service alive for about 4 months, and decided it was too expensive, so i canceled it. now the bill is 800$$ (for 3 phones, btw). so i call them, and they say i cant switch carriers without an unlock code? so i ask them how to get the code and they say i cant get the codes to unlock any of my phones (Blackberry curve, Samsung Behold 2, & samsung gravity t459) until i pay them the money. so i was wondering how i can find the codes to unlock them to go to another service free of charge. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. the phones are not currently activated if that makes a difference
