How do I Unattach my account and/or number from my boost mobile phone.?

I'm planning to sell my boost mobile phone (sanyo incognito) on eBay. My question is how do I setup the phone to allow the new user the ability to assign a number. I realize I would probably need to deactivate my account / number somehow. But I can't seem to find how how to go about doing.
