How do I type a current events paper in APA format?

I need to type a one-page paper for my Sociology class with 1 inch margins at the top/bottom and left/right and needs to have a bibliography, appropriate documentation and spelling.

I'll be honest here, I have no idea what the hell all this ^^^ means. If someone who has written papers before elaborate for me on what I need to do here.
