HOW DO I TURN THE CLOSED CAPTIONING OFF DIRECT TV!!!?

i know usually closed captioning is the tv not the direct tv itself but ever since i got direct tv my regular tv remote doesnt work. my girlfriend accidently sat on the direct tv remote and turned cc on and ive gone through everything and cant turn it off!!! i have a VeiwSonic and none of the menu options have anything for cc as well. i have no idea what to do
