How do i turn on the camera in ichat on my mac?

I trying to talk to my friend but were only getting sound not seeing each other how do i turn the camera on (i already tryied opening photo booth it had a pic of a camera with a slash through it)
well i can see myself on the comp but i cant see her and she cant see me so how do i do that
