How do I Turn off my dome lights on my 2001 Ford Ranger?

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger and i want to know how to turn off the dome lights. i know about the wheel next to the steering wheel. but it doesn't click when i roll it towards the floor. does the door have to be closed? or is there another button to turn if off altogether? Please be specific
