my cat got a young male deer mouse and i am trying to save it; im guessing the mouse is about a month old based on his body and teste size (i have raised mice in the past) i know that cat saliva has enzymes and bacteria in it that is toxic to small animals, and i dont know how long the wound went untreated (im guessing about 10-30 minutes before i got him)....he has one cut between his ear and his eye and one on his belly, neither of the wounds are very deep, im just hoping that the saliva didnt enter his bloodstream; what i have already done is thouroghly disinfected the wounds (with rubbing alchohol), put some neosporin on them, and put him in a small heating pad with some fluff, cut up yarn, and an old sock, i also put in some bunny pellets in case he gets hungry (before i get some mice pellets. ( i also gave him a bath before applying the neosporin and putting him away) Im not sure how likely it is that he will make it; but if anyone has any know-how or advice that will raise the odds in his favor i would greatly appreciate some coaching; thanks all!!!
