Elderly Woman Owned since New 2002 ECHO spits code P1349 VVT-i system malfunction.
Found a cam Re&Re directed from the OBDII Code P1349 Service Bulletin,
Im loping for alternate causes.
SLUDGE BUILD UP on VVT-i actuator filter, from being 'easy-drivin' and 'long-idling' is my best guess.
Does the OBDII FF DATA contain enough info to properly diagnose fault condition?
Why does Toyota say "CHANGE CAMS" on bulletin?
Can this be done easily but more importantly could a new filter on the system fix problem?
Can the VVT-i actuator filter be serviced easily?
We still believe in these little devils yet.
Thank you
mat
