how do i tether my android phone to my asus tablet?

i have a samsung transform ultra with boost mobile that is rooted with superuser...it has the wifi tether app on it so i can use it on my laptop and it works really well for my laptop i haven't had many issues...i just bought an asus transformer tablet and would like to tether to it using this phone...i have tried to connect and it wont connect at all...please if anyone has any information that could help me it would be greatly appreciated
