How do I tell whether it is the power cable or the console that is not working on...

...my Tele-games Video Arcade? I recently found a Tele-games Video Arcade console in my garage. I would love to get it to work, but when I plug it in, nothing happens. I think it is because it is not getting power for some reason. I was wondering if it is possible to tell whether it is the power cord or the console itself that is not working?
