First ? Class ? Citizen ?

I really like this guy but there are a few issues in the way of me just talking to him. The biggest reason is were not out as gay. Also that we've never even said hi to each other. Our classes, friends, or even lunch period don't mix at all. Last is that I have no idea how to just talk to random people. Most my friends I met through another friend. The others are girls who i naturally clicked with.
this week we have all school lunch so Its the perfect time to try talking to him! But how do I? And how do I get across that I like him in a non creepy pushy way?
My friends have said talk bout music or somtin but idk how to even start with that im so socially awkward lol Help!!!! Thanks BTW!!!
