How do I take screen shots on my AT&T Android 4G Impulse?

I recently bought an Impulse 4G from AT&T which is an Android. How can I take screen shots? Is there an app? Do I have to install only to my phone from my computer? HELP I'M TOTALLY CLUELESS!
