i need to know how to take off a headlight for a 1998 cadillac deville...i don't see a way to take off without prying it out but I'm scared it might break...any suggestions???

You're talking about removing the lens assembly, right? Seems to be some confusion about that. Not personally familiar with the procedure on that vehicle, but it sounds pretty simple. Check around the back of the radiator core support.

Make sure the headlight switch is OFF .

Remove the thumbscrews.

Pull out the headlight assembly and disconnect the wiring connectors from the headlight bulbs.

If necessary, remove the bulbs from the headlight assembly.

Disconnect the lamp monitor fiber optic cable.

To install:

Connect the lamp monitor fiber optic cable.

Install the bulbs in the headlight assembly.

Connect the wiring connectors to the headlight bulbs.

Position the headlight assembly and install the thumbscrews.

Check the headlight aim.

The headlamp is typically removed after lifting the hood and accessing the back side of the lamp assembly. The headlamp bulb is normally a twist lock design and you access the back side of the bulb from inside the engine hood compartment (not from the outside of the car).
