How do i take of a bike chain without a chain breaker?

If your bike has both front and rear derailleurs then you MUST have a chain breaker! If you have a single speed then taking the rear wheel off will do it. If you talk real nice to someone in a local bike shop they might just feel sorry for you and lend a hand too....
