...an igoogle gadget? Google gadgets seem to veer far away from any other widget standard.

Most of the time the "embed" option on these sites has code that starts with <script .. or <embed ... or <object .. and this works fine when I paste the code into my own page, wordpress, myspace etc ... but igoogle seems to allow only 'gadgets', which appear to need some complicated wrapper.

Is there some way to automatically convert, or automatically add the wrapper code so I can embed these other widgets?

Please I am not looking for alternatives or special browsers or widget sites that already provide gadgets.

I am looking to understand how I can take widgets from one of the code formats above, and get them to work in igoogle without a boatload of coding. There used to be a gadget in igoogle that allowed *any* embedded html but I cannot find it.

Anyone have direct experience doing this?

Thanks!
