I recently got a nice headset for Skype chats and such, and I would like to be able to temporarily change my output from speakers to headset so I can listen to music easier. How would I go about doing this?
Forgot to say, the speakers have the green plug as usual, but the headphones are usb
Sweet, that got it, thanks Nik :)

On Vista:

Go to your Control Panel -----> Sound ----> Playback ----> right click the Headset in the list and click on : Set as Default device. If you want to listen to youtube videos, you have to restart your browser or close all windows containing a Flash application. On iTunes or WMP, play the next song to get it through your headphones. This procedure is similar to the procedure on XP..

Enjoy your music,

I'm guessing that it has a standard headphone plug and your PC has a standard headphone connector.

So - when you plug the headset in the sound is automatically re-routed to the headset and the speakers are silent.

Are you sure you have plugged both cables in? - once for the mic (normally red or pink ) and one for the headet earphones (normally green)
