How do I swich my Verizon Wireless phone with another one that I already have online?

I have the allias1 and my mom got the allias2 and she wants to give it to me but we both want to keep our numbers, but I don't know how to swich them online. I already tried to go to the Verizon store and the guy was being dumb and didn't know what i was talking about. If you know how to do this, please tell me.
