He gave them all the info on himself on the phone (I was with him) and they said they would transfer the account to his name (from my 3rd floor to his 1st floor). At that time the account was current. I gave the roommate all papers from verizon that I had.
Now a year later suddenly I get a collections notice with MY NAME on it for $700 and Verizon is saying they only transferred the account to another floor, and there's nothing in the record about another name. How do I put this on that roommate's neck where it belongs? Did the roommate use my papers to somehow scam me to put the account back in my name?
What are you people talking about? There were still many months left on the account and I transferred the account TO HIS NAME as someone who would pay for it. It's not supposed to be in my name, they took all his info.
